One that will support you in creating a personalised plan that will help you achieve your goals?

Well, look no further!

As Rural Lifestyle Options Australia is here to make that process as seamless as possible. In today’s blog, we will be discussing how to look for a new NDIS provider and letting you know why Rural Lifestyle Options Australia might be the right NDIS provider for you…

Your NDIS plan is intended to aid you in achieving your goals, so you can switch service providers if you believe you are not receiving the support or quality of services you need.

This is important as your choice of NDIS provider directly influences how you live your life!

The process to change providers doesn’t need to be complicated but there are still several steps involved.

The first step is to:

Research to see if there is a better organisation out there for you!

Before making any decisions, we recommend researching NDIS providers that deliver the services you require in your area. You will need to consider what services they offer, and online reviews, and gain a clear picture of the values of the organisation before proceeding any further. Once you have a few options, create a shortlist of the ones that are best suited to you. The second step is to: Notify your current provider.

We recommend having a verbal conversation with them first to ensure your feedback and thoughts about why you are changing providers are heard. If an outcome, can’t be reached you will need to provide a cancellation of services email in writing.

Although you don’t have to give a reason for why you are choosing to end your service with your current provider it can be helpful.

Once you have completed the second step, the next step is to: Check your existing Service Agreement.

You need to check what Exit or Cancellation of Services processes you have agreed to in your Service Agreement. This could include notice period and cancellation costs.

Once you have followed the steps in your Service Agreement document, make sure to ask your provider to end their service booking within the NDIS portal. In some cases, you might have to get in contact with the NDIA to cancel a service booking however we recommend having this conversation with your existing provider first.

If you have a Support Coordinator or Plan Manager, don’t forget to let them know what you are planning and provide them with the details of when you will be ending your agreement.
