Our News

Yesterday, staff from our Logan Service Hub were invited by our neighbours Gunya Meta for afternoon tea and reflection in recognition of National Apology Day 2020. Elders shared personal stories about what this day meant to them and everyone in attendance reflected on where they were on the 13th of February 2008, when Prime Minister Kevin Rudd formally acknowledged the suffering caused by decades of abuse, trauma and mistreatment of our First Nations people. Rural Lifestyle Options Australia recognises and upholds the sentiments laid out in the National Apology. As an organisation, we strive to continue the progress and empowerment of Indigenous Australians through our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP).

Last year, Rural Lifestyle Options Australia rolled out RAW Mind Coach to all staff, a ten session e-learning program designed to boost resilience and enhance mental wellbeing. In the spirit of Feel Good February and to further promote the importance of mindfulness in the workplace, we are gifting staff members who access RAW Mind Coach at random, a book from their recommended reading list. The second recipient is Monil Dangol, Lifestyle Support Worker who Shane Ferguson, Executive Leader NDIS Supports presented a copy of ‘Mindful Compassion' by Paul Gilbert and Zunzang Choden. In this book, the author demonstrates how traditional mindfulness and compassion can work in harmony to offer a new, effective, and practical approach to overcoming everyday emotional and psychological problems.
