Queensland officials have just announced that the lockdown will lift in the 11 SEQ local government areas from 4pm today.
Additional measures will remain in place for the 11 SEQ local government areas of Brisbane, Gold Coast, Ipswich, Lockyer Valley, Logan, Moreton Bay, Noosa, Redland City, Scenic Rim, Somerset and Sunshine Coast until 4pm on Sunday 22 August.
People must wear a mask at all times outside the home (including public transport) unless alone or with members of your household; eating or drinking; doing strenuous exercise or it is unsafe.
Schools and childcare are open.
In schools, masks must be worn by teachers and staff, plus students in high school.
You must be seated to drink or eat in cafés and restaurants, and businesses and venues are allowed one person per 4m² inside and one person per 2m² outdoors, while smaller venues up to 200m² are allowed one person per 2m² with a maximum of 50 people.
Private gatherings are restricted to 10 people, and up to 20 people can attend weddings and funerals. Dancing is permitted at weddings.
Please reconsider the need to travel outside of the previously locked-down areas.
Queenslanders have done a great job keeping each other safe, but the Delta strain is highly contagious, and these remaining measures are about stopping the spread.

🔹 Wash your hands with soap and water, or hand sanitiser;
🔹 Leave a location if it is crowded.
