The latest Rural Lifestyle Options Australia updates.

Our News

Please see below an important update from Chief Executive Officer, Michelle Latailakepa. With the ever-developing COVID-19 situation, I wanted to share with you all an update on what you can expect from Rural Lifestyle Options Australia during this unprecedented event. Please be assured that our Board of Directors and Leadership Group have been working around the clock to ensure a range of safety precautions are implemented to safeguard our organisation during this unpredictable time.

As the situation continues to evolve, we are committed to sharing updates as early as possible with the information we have at hand, based on the guidance from both state and federal government. As always, our priority is the safety of our participants; their families and our team. Since our founding over 27 years ago, our purpose at Rural Lifestyle Options Australia has been to enrich the lives of people with a disability in rural and regional communities by creating choice, opportunities and skills for life. Our purpose remains resolute, both in times of prosperity and during times of uncertainty.

Whilst we have implemented a range of proactive measures to protect the health and safety of our team and the people we support I would just like to reaffirm that it is ‘business’ as usual for us.

Stay positive, stay safe and take care of each other.

Michelle Latailakepa Chief Executive Officer

National Close the Gap Day (19 March 2020) is a national day of action to pledge support for achieving Indigenous health equality by 2030. This year the theme is “We nurture our culture for our future, and our culture nurtures us". Join more than 250,000 people who have taken action for Indigenous health equality on National Close the Gap Day. Your actions can create lasting change. Be part of the generation who closes the gap.

National Close the Gap Day is a time for all Australians to come together and commit to achieving health equality for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

As an organisation, Rural Lifestyle Options Australia are proud to support this initiative as part of their commitment to reconciliation in Australia, and ask others to show their support by signing the petition at: www.antar.org.au/closethegappledge

Sunday, 8 March marks International Women's Day 2020, a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women - while also marking a call to action for accelerating gender equality. Collectively, each one of us can help create a gender equal world. This year, the campaign theme is #EachforEqual and calls on individuals to strike the #EachforEqual pose to motivate others to make a positive difference for women everywhere. Rural Lifestyle Options Australia are proud to support this movement and hope the actions of our organisation inspire others to also get behind this worthwhile cause.
