Today marks National Close The Gap Day 🖤💛❤️

A day that highlights the fact that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are still dying more than 10 years younger than other Australians.

A day which calls to reduce disadvantage among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples through improving health, employment and education outcomes.

A day which reminds us that we need allyship and action to overcome the inequality experienced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

A day to educate ourselves on this injustice and to use our voices to raise awareness in order to achieve health equality for all Australians.

What are you doing to recognise National Close The Gap Day?

You can take meaningful action now by signing the pledge to Close the Gap. 👇

This week, we are rallying behind Lisa, one of our staff members who has been severely impacted by the recent floods in Lismore, New South Wales.

While Lisa is not the only staff member who was impacted by the recent flooding, almost all of Lisa’s two storey house was completely engulfed in water, with the clean-up still underway.

We have set up a GoFundMe page for Lisa, with the hope of raising some funds to assist in making her home habitable again and to help ease the financial stress of recovery after this disaster.

And that’s a wrap! ✨

A big thank you to the Brisbane Broncos Charities Fund and the team at 50-50 Charity Raffle for the opportunity to fundraise for our Unfunded Projects initiative at the Brisbane Broncos season opener against the Sydney Rabbitohs last Friday.

Collectively, our volunteers sold $23,109 worth of raffle tickets.

A great result for our Unfunded Projects initiative and for the Broncos who took the win on the night 👏🏻

Thank you to all of our volunteers who put in a fantastic effort, and everyone who purchased a ticket to help support people with a disability living in rural and regional communities.
