NAIDOC Week 2022

This week, Rural Lifestyle Options Australia are celebrating all things NAIDOC.

NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia in the first week of July each year (Sunday to Sunday), to celebrate and recognise the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

This week marks an opportunity for all Australians to learn about First Nations cultures and histories and participate in celebrations of the oldest, continuous living cultures on earth.

This year’s theme ‘Get Up! Stand Up! Show Up!’ is a rallying cry for systemic change for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Momentum is gathering on key issues to increase First Nations peoples’ rights, opportunities and access.

There is growing awareness of the importance of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander self-determination and the primacy of First Nations cultures to our national story.

Now more than ever, we need to keep focused, keep engaged, and keep showing up.

Choose to be part of the change. 🖤💛❤️
